Judge Ginsberg gets the most 'extraordinary' medical news |
|
The tumor was benign. In removing it, they found a second area that was cancerous, but so very early that it was successfully removed. Had she not had the benign tumor, the cancerous area would not have been found and excised.

Yes ... I've checked it out and scanned it. I'll try to read it all when I get the chance. To be associated with the "agonistic" sorta appeals to me. But then again I am a nut. :silly:

My FIL was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer shortly after Christmas. The tumor is encapsulated but inoperable. The only reason they found it when they did was because he had a gall bladder attack. His oncologist got him enrolled in a clinical study that appears to increase life expectancy; here's hoping.
All the best to Justice Ginsburg.

24. If the malignant tumor was also on her pancreas, the news is not good. |
|
Five year survival for pancreatic cancer hovers around 5%. I have one neighbor who lasted about six months with the diagnosis, but another who is still alive after ten years. (The second one told the doctors to remove the chemotherapy IV lines and feeding tubes or he would do it himself. He's still kicking. I do hope obstinance increases cancer survival. If I ever get it, that will be my only recourse too.)
