Philosophy is prettier than reality....
What have "we" become, collectively? Greedy, hateful, intolerant, racist, snobbish, and unforgiving all come to my mind when I think of the busy, hectic world we live in. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry that we forget even the simplest forms of kindness such as saying "thank you" or opening a door for an elder or handicap person. Since when did intelligence supersede the common courtesy of humanity? Nothing makes me more angry than to see/hear an educated person use their genius to mock or tease someone for not being in "their" league or social status. The homeless should have as much to say as the wealthy. Don't get me wrong, there are ethical problems in every social class, but in my eyes the stronger should help the weaker, the bigger help those smaller.

Sometimes it's as if people are lurking, waiting for someone to misstep so that they can torment and walk on the fallen. Debate is a good thing, but not when the issues are blurred with mocking and disrespectful behavior for one another. Tolerance is not just a pretty word to be talked and written about, but practiced in all of our activities. To love one another is not just a sonnet or rhyme, but a universal regard for all.

Who among us is good enough to judge the other? Show me that person and I will shift my views to those of the perfect one.

3. Anyone who thinks philosophy ISN'T about reality, hasn't learned much.

4. maybe philosophy is the mother of reality-
if we are willing to allow it.

It's easy to fall into familiar ruts rather than to risk taking the chance on a lesser known, more challenging path. But if we aren't willing to live in the way we wish others would, or try to break out of the circle of selfishness/anger/retribution/hurt we condemn ourselves to more of the same.

I'm tired of circling this drain.

peace-
to you, to all~
