Al Franken Opens Up on His Recount Battle, Rush Limbaugh, Recession Politics - 1st Nat Interview
In his first national media interview since November, Franken discusses the trials of his Senate election battle and political fights ahead.

The following is a transcript of Al Franken's first national media interview since November, conducted by Mark Green, which will air on Air America this Saturday at 3 p.m. PST and re-airing Sunday at 6 a.m. PST. It has been edited for length and clarity.

Mark Green: ...We talked before air about an election night a few years back when I spent two hours in an emotional deep freeze not knowing whether I had won or lost a close and big race. So how have you handled a three-month -- and counting -- emotional deep freeze?

Al Franken: Well, Frannie and I Iook at each other at night, usually right before we go to bed, and go like: "How long is this gonna go on?" But, it really looks now that it's going to get resolved in my favor, and soon, and so I'm actually excited to get there. So that sort of overcomes the frustration of: "How long can this go on?"

4. That's funny
I've heard him on Ed Schultz at least twice since November.

But I'm glad he's getting out there.

Does anyone actually listen to Green since he eviscerated Air America?

5. I seldom listen to AA, though with the race as tight as it remains...
some insight into why Franken has chosen the outlets he has may be seen. You know, when Randi was on AA; before the evisceration you mention, she would refer to Schultz in very unfavorable terms just say'n.

7. I'm not stickin' up for Ed, just saying M. Green is not the first

I'm aware of Ed Schultz's shortcomings. I'm a truck driver; I listen to a lot of talk radio.

Also, Mark Green was responsible for running Randi off AA.

we setup vehicles w/XM cause in part even we get tired of the CD's we burn out in the middle of no-where-ville northern California so you get American Left I think it is which has some of this some of that, Nova-M, Green, etc, but not like when you could tune in just AA on the AM dial...hearing you bout M. Green as well
