I've gone from having Some Respect for Diane Sawyer, to Zero in about 1 second. |
|
So Ive been having my own little Oscar film festival over this past few days, and I always find out things about the non-fiction movies that I hadnt known before. For instance, DiFi's role in Milk. So then I saw the blonde woman in Frost/Nixon, and when I heard Nixon say she was Diane Sawyer, any bit of respect I had for that woman is gone. Richard Fucking Nixon? She actually stayed on with that crook after Watergate and his resignation? Was she in his 20% or something? SHe's nuts enough to still work him for him, she was probably in Bush's 20%, or Cheney's 10.
Rant over...Frost/Nixon's a damn good movie btw.

2. Nixon was a little bit before my time |
|
So I'm not exactly familiar with Diane Sawyer's complete career.

How the hell did you have any respect for her in the first place. Even if I didn't know she was a Nixon shill, she is a horribly biased and misinformed member of the corporate media and we'd all be better off if she went back to pole dancing or whatever she did to get the job with Tricky Dick.

7. She was hardly in the pole dancer category. She was a graduate of Wellesley, |
|
Hillary's alma mater, a great school and hard as hell to get into in the first place...

9. Well they didn't do a very good job with her |
|
She's dumb as a bag of hammers.
And thoroughly submerged in the insular Washington mind set.

10. Oh yes, Wellesley is far in her past. She is a "personality" now and I doubt |
|
if she has a good idea of who she is any more. Celebrity does that to some people...

4. Do you have any idea what unemployment in 1974 was like? |
|
Staying with Nixon was a job, something a lot of her peer group (myself included) sorely lacked.
Nixon wasn't 100% bad, remember. He started the EPA and extended unemployment benefits for people like me.

6. God that's an old story. Diane Sawyer left the white house with Nixon and helped him |
|
prepare his memoirs and prepare for the Nixon/Frost interviews.
