So... I missed the speech... how was it?

How was it? I admit that I usually HATE States of the Union addresses (and similar congressional addresses), no matter who's giving them. All the canned lines, the constant and annoying applause, the laundry list of proposals, half of which will never see the light of day...

Did it rise above those?

He spoke well, it is a political valentine, it has no specifics, nor does it need to.

It is just the usual theater.

2. constant applause and nancy pelosi needed pom poms

all in all it was a good speech...ending guantanamo, ending iraq, unfortunately staying in afghanistan, going after corporations that send jobs overseas, taxing the top 2 percent, not taxing those who make 250,000 or less, stimulating the economy...repubs booed a few times. or sat down. dems kept standing up vis a vis pelosi who was jumping around like a popcorn kernel in a hot pan.
