Leslie is the name Blitzer's parents gave him, while Tweety is a disparaging nickname used by others in regards to Matthews.

A person's name is not an ethnic slur. Period. That is utter bullshit. To say that it IS an ethnic slur is highly offensive. You are the one who doesn't get it.

You are so logic-challenged. And having an ethic name doesn't give you some special say-so about it. I have a foreign mis-pronounced name too. Checkmate.

That's your judgement, not mine. I see nothing wrong with his name. I'll bet his parents don't either. YOU'RE the one who has some massive problem with it.
Well you can keep that. I don't like getting to know dingbats anyway. Buh bye, now, have fun critiquing people. :hi:

8. Good idea to take a poll. |
|
We wouldn't want to be "out of line", now, would we? I was wondering myself, just what's "allowable" according to the thought police lately. Of course, they might be too tired to respond, after all the mental gymnastics and pretzel logic they've been through today.
Can't wait to see it on this one. It'll probably be ok to go on insulting anybody any way we want - as long as it's not an "ethnic" person, or person of color. So far, that's the bottom line to it that I've seen.
I call that discriminatory. But then, I'm one of those xenophobic racist people. (But that name calling doesn't count.)

We don't revere political correctness as younger people do, we see it for what it is.
And if younger people don't use the name Piyush, that's up to them; but to attempt to make a taboo out of it to us, that's out of bounds. Have your preference, but other people who see it differently are entitled to theirs just as much as you are to yours. It's called "a difference of opinion".

50. Yes to both. And calling Bush "Chimp" is also fine |
|
Calling McCain "John Sidney McCain", "McInsane", "McSame" is also fine. We do not necessarily need to refer to these people the way they would like us to. But we also don't need to stoop to the oh-so-clever-wide-eyed-innocent racism.
Calling Bush a chimp is fine. Calling Alan Keyes or Michael Steele a chimp would obviously not be fine.
Calling Chris Matthews Tweety is fine. Calling Ann Coulter "Man Coulter" is not fine.
Calling Jindal an overhyped, incoherent, not-ready-for-prime-time little jerk is fine, but gratuitously harping on his ethnicity is not.
