Last night about 8:20 Keith led with a story about how G.W. Bush was |
|
still attempting to ruin the country. Phone rang and I had to answer. Was this in relation to Bush traveling and interfering with the Nation's business??? I hope Bush just stays in Texas and stays out of POTUS's business..

1. I will get this wrong - but it will be somewhat close |

Somehow he, either directly by Executive Order or indirectly though an administrative Rule, made it impossible for Federal Employees who inspect nursing homes from testifying against the nursing homes in case a tenent was mistreated and took the home to court. That's how I recall it - but I might be off a good bit.

4. Yup. It was a last minute, sneak regulation change. |
|
Clearly, the predatory nursing home industry got their pound of flesh. There are absolute GHOULS in that industry.

5. he made them official government employees |
|
And this means that they CANNOT testify in lawsuits brought against the nursing homes they inspected.
Bush, and his whole family should be stripped of their wealth and set afloat in a leaky dinghy. This is pure D HATEFUL bullshit. Wonder which contributor owns a mess of nursing homes?

2. no - it has to do with nursing home inspectors |
|
Edited on Thu Feb-26-09 12:10 PM by DrDan
he declared them federal workers - so now they are exempt from testifying at criminal proceedings.
Just another example of some lobbyist pulling some strings.
No one knew about it until a couple of days ago.

13. Can you imagine how frustrating it must be to be a head of one of |
|
the agencies now. I'm sure most would prefer the missing "O's" from the keyboards as opposed to the cronies given civil service protection who may well be saboteurs and the executive orders from hell.

7. No one will be surprised that The Carlyle Group has a strong interest in Nursing Homes |
|
They ran Beverly Homes into the ground in the 80's 90's with George HW Bush in their employ.

10. well - it can only grow with the baby boomers hitting social security age |
|
there are big bucks in this - and with the quality of care going down, profits will only grow.

We always watch Keith (and Rachel) and we did have him on last night but sometimes (often!) his show launches us into a family discussion that means we're not listening to what's going on for a while. That must have happened last night. :hide:
