Dobson Steps Down From Focus on the Family, Replaced by Real-Life Dr. Strangelove

Onward, Christian soldiers! As Rev. James Dobson steps down as the once-influential crank chairman of the conservative Focus on the Family, he is being replaced by Ret. Airforce Lt. Gen. Patrick P. Caruana, a recently retired Vice President for Northrop Grumman Space Technology who's a real life Dr Strangelove.

Along with being an air campaign planner and commander directing strategic forces in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War and directing long-range power projection, special operations forces airlift, and training programs at the Pentagon,:

As Air Force Space Command's first 14th Air Force commander (Caruana) directed the Air Force's only space force which supports warfighting worldwide with ballistic missile warning, control of Department of Defense and NATO satellites, spacelift generation and range operations, global space surveillance and warning, and ballistic missile test operations.

After leaving the Air Force, Caruana worked for TRW and the Northrup Grumman on space-based defense projects. Uber-hawk Caruana is currently on the board of directors for Liquidmetal Technologies which utilizes new alloys in a variety of industrial applications.

Awarded a series of multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts by the Department of Defense, Liquidmetal alloys' technology is currently being developed for use as a Kinetic Energy Penetrator (KEP) rod...The Department of Defense is working closely with Liquidmetal Technologies to develop a new class of effective and environmentally benign KEP rods.
