Translation: New York City's weather sux this morning. Glad I'm not flying the Shuttle today. It's 21°F with heavy snow and blowing snow with winds gusting to 31. I think that qualifies as a blizzard.

"A blizzard is a severe winter storm condition characterized by low temperatures, strong winds, and heavy blowing snow. Blizzards are formed when a high pressure system, also known as a ridge, interacts with a low pressure system; this results in the advection of air from the high pressure zone into the low pressure area."

4. I don't miss CAT-3 landings at Logan in the snow one bit!
But I'd rather land in a blizzard in Boston than at NY La Guardia any day.

7. If you only knew!!
CAT-3 AUTOLAND. Autopilot lands the airplane in extreme low-visibility conditions. Special aircraft and aircrew qualifications apply.

2. And here I thought you were typing w/o looking and screwed
up your fingering. :P

I imagine pilots aren't going anywhere in a hurry. I'm glad I'm not sitting at an airport waiting for anything.

3. The winds aren't quite strong enough
but it qualifies as an "OK, this sucks," kind of day.

It's the kind of weather that had me trudging home on foot from Mass. General to Jamaica Plain at midnight more than once when the T shut down.

It sucks. It's why I left Boston, together with insane real estate prices that would have had me remaining a renter forever on an RN's wages.
