I just wish Giuliani would start getting heavily into Iraq commentary like this.
he's the one to worry about

McCain is yesterday's dirty linen

that said, I hope he makes enough of a comeback to be able to use his Rovian dirty tricksters against St. Rudy

I have rarely seen in my life so animated a rebuttal by a reporter of a public official's position.

McCain has his head so far up his own ass on this, it is really actually surreal. I just don't know who is telling him to run right as the country runs left, but it sure does make for entertaining television as he destroys himself with pathetic lies.

Hilarious. And sad.

25. Here's what McCain said:

Audio: John McCain says it is safe to go for a walk in parts of Baghdad
David Edwards and Josh Catone

Print This Email This

On Monday morning's "Bill Bennett's Morning in America" radio show, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) said that there were parts of Baghdad where he and the host could go for a walk.

"There are neighborhoods in Baghdad where you and I could walk through those neighborhoods, today," he said, when asked to highlight something positive about what American forces have been able to accomplish in Iraq.

Earlier in the interview, McCain said that the US is "beginning to succeed in Iraq" and early pull out would result in "unmitigated disaster of incredible proportions," adding that "we will see chaos and genocide in the region and we will be back and they will follow us home."

He went on to compare the war in Iraq to the Vietnam war saying, "The only difference is, remember, the Vietnamese didn't want to follow us home, these guys want to follow us home. ... It's not Iraq they're after, my friend, it's us."

Full audio of the interview, which was spotlighted on Calling All Wingnuts is at link:

Edited on Wed Mar-28-07 02:46 PM by LynnTheDem
where the US of A is to personally deliver their "debt of gratitude"?

Coz they're brown-skinned, thus too ignorant to find America unless they "follow us home"?

And so we remain occupying Iraq forever coz otherwise the increasingly pissed-off Iraqis will "follow us home"?

ONLY RIGHTWINGNUTS are this incredibly deeply stupid.

I'm all for McCain declaring victory in Iraq. Perhaps the Democrats ought to counter Mr. McCain by asserting that if the situation in Iraq is indeed improving, then the troops ought to begin a phased withdrawal.

Declare victory and go home, as they say.

I don't know whether he sees this run for president as his "last hurrah," or if he is simply a tool of the current administration, or even possibly being blackmailed, or delusional, or something else, or any combination of these. Bottom line is, he is not suited for this job.

I want to know who is funding his campaign?
