it looked exactly like that, and I was standing near the road at the bottom, and looking up, it really looked like you could just run right up to the top. Like it would maybe take you 10 minutes and you were there. It was such a distortion of distance. It's 5000 feet up to the top, but it seems like the tops are just right there in front of you - like you could take a bow and arrow and shoot an arrow and hit the top. It struck me as very strange - knowing how big they are, but when you're standing there, they seem so close.
