A last word on a GLBT Thread I started earlier...
whole thing here:http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5183373&mesg_id=5183373

I'd like to thank the many who responded, and apologize to the several I offended. I can see it was a bad idea, but it WAS one hell of an education for me!

3. Thanks,
I'd hitherto thought CU's weren't such a bad idea - shows how wrong one can be.
Add it to my LONG track record for such.

4. I appreciate your question and your effort in finding clarification...
I couldn't find in this OP or in the other thread, however, what your conclusion is; the answer to your question.

As regards the word "marriage" what are your findings?

Best, NYC_SKP

5. to answer your question...
I would have to say that it seems Gays & Lesbians WILL go to the mat for marriage. As was explained to me late in the thread, much of the non-Religious Right opposition to allowing marriage as opposed to civil unions lies in those opposed wishing to have their heterosexuality held as "special", which would make even the best-crafted CU legislation just another bout of "Separate But Equal". I'm not doing it justice, but that was the gist.
And based on that, I would have to agree that my idea was a non-starter.
