interesting.
I predict (and pray) that Emanuel is fired and banished by the end of the year. I truly hate that bastard.

I love him. He's exactly what our President needs - a smart, savvy Chicago pol who takes no prisoners.
President Obama knew what he was doing when he made his choice. If he's behind the "Rush Strategy" - if, in fact, there is one - then I applaud him. But, personally, I think it's more a matter of the GOPigs doing it to themselves and trying to blame anyone else. That's par for their course.
So, why don't you like Emanuel?

Really?
I think it takes a bit more than that.
Do you honestly believe President Obama would pick as his Chief of Staff a "neocon," as you characterize Emanuel?
Now, as to the assertions you've made about him, well, Bill Clinton was pro-NAFTA, too, as you might recall. Does that make him a "neocon"?
The insurance industry has lots of champions on Capitol Hill, both Democrats and Republicans, since they're the largest single lobbyist clientele in DC, so does that make all their donees "neocons"?
Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, lots of other members of Congress were "pro-war." Are they also "neocons"?
I don't know anything about Emanuel's stance on single-payer, so I can't comment.
But, I do think you are drawing on slight information to come up with a ridiculous assertion.

It sounded like something they wanted for the DSCC, but I really don't know how much it was some big plot by the Obama white house cooked up by THEM. I don't really see the white house wasting as much energy on this as everyone claims they are. Whatever. It was a politico piece, so I'm suspect. I was reading on Wonkette how Politico supposedly has memos about how they encourage staffers to dominate the morning and afternoon, this seems more a matter of politico pretending to get a scoop than anything really substantial. And I'm not the biggest fan of Rahm either.

I also think that many of these moderates you speak of are less likely to be fooled by the GOP again if they know who the main GOP architects are.
Love him or hate him, Rahm was not lying when he characterized Limbaugh as a major force behind the GOP. Moderates do not agree with Limbaugh or his tactics, and many will put 2 and 2 together after all these apologies and back-slides.
As well, this is not just a "scheme to get Limbaugh"- last time I checked, this "scheme" took down Steele 5 or six nothces and has caused some serous infighting, confusion and embarassment amongst the obstructionist Republicans.
I could be wrong, but I've seen no viable counter argument from you either way.

I thought they hoped that it failed, and meant it.
Opposing a major portion of Obama's agenda sounds like real 'oppostion stuff' to me, but what do I know?
But you are right about one thing- the public has grown tired of the message put forth by the the other party (they apparently see a difference b/t the two)- and there is no better time to CORRECTLY and FACTUALLY tie Rush style politics to the RNC, etc.
I believe in kicking them while they are down- b/c I dont want them to get up again for a while.

very glad this getting limpbaugh out from under a rock happened and set into motion by Obama. Finally, rush has to be held accountable on a grand scale for his bloviating against patriotic Americans in order to get the fascists running the country.
People need to find out that rush is so much more than an "entertainer" that he always hides behind. Dave Letterman was talking to Katie Couric about him the other night and saying he looked like a "Russian Mobster" with his flesh showing at the throat and that's one thing we did not need to see was more of rush's flesh".

|
..Who controls the GOP agenda? Not anyone in the party leadership -- its RUSH! How can they craft a coherent message and stay on it when the don't' control it. The focus of attention on Limpballs pushes the House and Senate GOP, McCain and Romney and the rest off stage. This is brilliant. They've set up this idiot as the voice of the opposition and deprived the GOP of any control over the agenda.
What's better is that politicians love the limelight and love power and love grandstanding and the focus on Limpballs makes the entire GOP leadership second string! The only way they can assert any independence is to repudiate him.
Either way we win!

We have a president elected with 53 percent of the vote(Bigger than Bush Jr,Clinton, and Carter and even Reagan 80 Popular vote) which Is the same level of the popular vote Poppy Bush got In 1988,and the biggest Democrat victor since LBJ,and with a 60 plus approvol rating(depends on who you listen to) and consider this means some who voted for Mccain like what Obama Is doing. This may mean some who bought Into Obama as muslim, soliast, and paling around with terrorists have seen things different now.

37. Drama isn't coming from Obama. |
|
It's the press and Limbaugh that look like overdramatic fools.

approves. Which is more palatable?

59. Do you honestly believe |
|
that the White House staff has time to work out these machinations?
Do you? Seriously?
The Republicans are in a natural progression - they are reaping what they've sown, and they don't like it one bit.
It's a whole new era, but they can't seem to conceptualize that - hence, their running back to Newt Gingrich.
It's all just very, very funny. I expect the West Wing is having a very good laugh at this one.

60. It has been reported that Carville and Begala initiated this with Emanuel. |
|
And have yet to hear them deny it. When I saw Emanuel talking about it on Face the Nation I could tell by his stupid smirk that something was not right with my belief that the WH was reacting to Limbaugh.

63. No, you have to have whoever said that |
|
prove that it's true. Let's hear it for triangulation, the basic tenet of all journalism.
No, they don't have to deny a thing. The one making the assertion has to prove the truth of the statement. That's just a basic fact. Democrats have been on the defensive long enough, and they've learned, thanks to the example of President Obama, not to assume that posture when, in fact, the responsibility for proving the truth lies with the person reporting it.
You can "tell by his stupid smirk" what he had done and what he was thinking?
Cool. That's not too nuts.
So, again, tell me how Emanuel is a "neoncon". Your assertion, after all.
Enlighten me, or are you just divining that by TV images? Because, if you are, there's a treatment for that.

38. It's just the opposite. It make the GOP look like a bunch of lockstep drama queens |
|
who only parrot the incoherent lies and smears of a drug-addled radio host.
Obama is about getting things accomplished to fix this country.
And his administration is slowly exposing that all REpublicans want to do is smear, lie and obstruct.
It's the eradiction of drama, not the instigation of it.
It's brilliant!

35. It's just the opposite. Rahm wanted to expose the RW noise machine for what it was |
|
during Clinton's administration and Clinton told him to back off.
Look what happened after that.
The GOP whiners must cow to the altar of Pigboy. It is high time they are called out along with their master.
It is a win-win to have this exposed out in the open so that low info voters can see the vile, disgusting smears coming out of these gasbags. Because that's all they have. ZERO ideas.

41. if you mistakenly, and i would say GREATLY MISTAKENLY, think the GOP is dead... |
|
you are dealing with VERY short-term conclusions...
to quote Walter Brennan, one of the greatest character actors, in 'To Have and Have Not'...in a conversation with Humphrey Bogart:
Eddie (WB): Was you ever bit by a dead bee?
the stinger never 'dies', even with the death of the bee, until the stinger gets 'used'...

They still think they are dealing with Bill Clinton. They think 2010 will be 1994 If they just say no to everything our President Is trying to do.They threw everything they had at Obama In 2008 and he still whipped soreloser Mccain.Where was all the outrage over earmarks when Republicans were In Charge. His buddy Kyl Is deep Into earmarks.
After Franken Is seated and Reid and Dodd can hold on all we have to do Is have 1 pickup and we have total control of the senate. Of course we could pick more than 1.Keep your eye on 538,and they will keep you updated on senate rankings.

The GOP's completely discombobulated, we've just given them a little push through the door, and they inflicted upon themselves the worst possible faceman that they could possibly get.
And the funny thing is that the GOP's so schizophrenic right now that they're eating it right up!
Yeah, people like Carville, Begala and Emanuel are bastards, but they're OUR bastards!
