Fuck You “Joe the Whatever,” You Deserve No Healthcare and $4 an Hour Job:
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 07:17 PM by 20score
But don’t drag the rest of us down with you. In your passionate fight to allow the rich to be taxed at a lower rate than the middle class, and your fight against healthcare for millions, you are getting what you want for yourself. But why take down so many with you? Dig around in that propaganda sponge you call a brain, and come up with a sane reason that someone in the richest country in the world should die because his or her employer doesn’t provide healthcare? Or how about a child dieing because the parents don’t have insurance? (Your side did fight against covering the uninsured children - remember the SCHIP veto?) And one of the more disgusting fights, still reserved for the looniest in the lunatic fringe, is the fight against having a minimum wage. Your side is losing that fight in the hearts and minds, but it’s worth noting because it shows where you’d like to take the country. Right along side of the third-world countries where American jobs have been shipped for years. It’s all part of the ‘Free Market’ you’re so keen on.

Now of course I am not calling out the average “Joes” in the country that just happen to have that moniker. It’s a pseudonym for the middle class right-winger, Joe the Mechanic/Technician/Teacher/Crane Operator/Plumber, insert career, that will quote statistics straight from RW radio. That certain segment of society that is not only fighting against the country’s economic well being, but against their own self interest. “The top one percent pay 35% of the taxes!” you’ll repeat. Or “The top ten percent pay 70% of the taxes.” Of course you can do a lot with statistics using omission. Because according to Edward N. Wolff at New York University, the bottom 80% of the country controls only 16% of the country’s wealth. That was in 2001, before the massive tax cuts for the rich under Bush. Guess Rush left that little tidbit out in his latest tirade. You see no irony in your push for tax cuts during a time of war – which you also supported against the interests of the country – that increased the national debt by trillions, but don’t want deficit spending to create jobs to stave off a depression? According to the latest polls Obama’s disapproval ratings are about what Bush’s approval ratings were two months ago. Same people – you bet, as Rumsfeld would have said. It’s you and your ilk, fighting the bad fight.

You fought for the war in Iraq against the “Traitors and hippies.” You said the “Bush economy was strong!” You said the “Market will regulate itself.” “We learned our lesson in the ‘80’s, this isn’t a housing bubble.” “The Iraq War will bring democracy to the Middle East and make America stronger.” “Saddam Hussein is Hitler, don’t you know history?”

You might want to consider other sources of information, if for no other reason than you should be sick of being wrong. But at the very least, if you're not up to helping the rest of the country, try not to stand in its way.

Edit: Dumbass typo.

1. Nice Rant...
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 06:51 PM by XOKCowboy
I'll give you a :toast: and a K&R for it. Unfortunately many people have a "propaganda sponge" brain like good ol' Joe. One of my best friends yesterday started to tell me that Obama was going to take away our guns and started reading a RW email he got. I had to school him and made him look it up on Snopes.com to convince him it was RW bullshit and to shut him up. This guy is not a Fox watcher either. He's just normal guy bombarded by the corporate media machine to believe that Obama is a socialist, antichrist, the cause of the economic crisis, etc. I guess I'll have to keep sending him TDS videos so he can get some real news.

10. I was talking to a friend who works at a large aerospace company that just announced layoffs.

He said the majority there, Bushies of course, are blaming Obama, even though everyone saw this coming months ago. It just pissed me off.

Had to say something. Think I'll send this to him.

And thanks, XOKCowboy!

9. seems like the other side really knows how to get
their shills out in front of the media. What we need to do, is get real people out there. People that played by the rules, that did everything they could to try and raise themselves and their families, only to be crushed by the corporatists and their supporters.

Peace

They are incredibly stupid, do not have the credentials or credibility to inform others, and do not possess enough intelligence to enter a voting both, let alone vote in one.

25. I use to read in my union journal how...
'Moral issues' were just too important to the country, as the dumb asses slit their fellow union members' throats and knifed them in the back on the way down.

They are always the one's bitching about everything and the first to jump on a better deal, but they demand that you respect how much of a righteous 'union brother' they are.

24. Conservative Politics is marketed ... just like a shirt.
People buy conservative politics because they think they look good in it. Something begins to smell, and they blame Clinton. Soon, the fortunate among them realize that their pretty new shirt is actually a suit made from bullshit, and straw is sticking out of their pockets.

27. I forgot to put in the post why these people should not expect corporations to do the right thing
when no regulations are in place. They don't do the right thing in countries where there are no regs. That's proof right there.

Next post I'll include it.
