GENEVA – U.N. health agencies recommended Wednesday that heterosexual men undergo circumcision because of "compelling'' evidence that it can reduce their chances of contracting HIV by up to 60 per cent.

8. Only if I'm not too busy breastfeeding in public!
Maybe when we're done we can take the kid and the cell phone to an R-rated movie though.

9. Only if the baby has colic.
It's no fun if the kid sleeps through the dialog!

15. Who said anything about a baby?
My kid is old enough to ask for it and unbutton my blouse.

4. If they had cable
they wouldn't be screwing like bonobos. It's frequency and culture that spreads HIV.

7. Huh?
Could you clarify your meaning a bit? I'm not aware of any HIV Bonobo connection.

13. If they had clean, running water and sanitary conditions to live in their foreskins
might be kept clean too.

This is also an economic condition.

20. I don't know how frequently monkeys screw each other,
but abstinence crossed my mind as well. Things like education, a job, television, hobbies, do seem to cut down on needless reproduction...

At any rate, "lowers risk" does not eliminate the risk and disease is never a good thing to have.

I'm not sure it's entirely "culture" either... maybe "cult" as some cults are based around mass sexual congress, but if they're educated, then that's their problem.

Besides, when you say "culture" I immediately think of George Michael. He had, loudly so all the media either tabloid or genuine could hear, pinned all of his activities on being "culture"; if there's a better lame, slanderous, scapegoating cop-out for being such a loser, I don't want to know about it.

And a monogamous couple, as long as neither person of the couple cheats, they'll NEVER get any disease they don't already have.

10. so okay I never really paid attention to this before
but HIV is transmitted by body fluids, semen, blood, etc. I don't understand how or why cutting excess skin off helps at all? Am I missing something here? Without starting a yes or no debate can someone at least explain the theory behind this? :wtf:

17. On a serious note, I imagine that the space under an intact foreskin
provides as marginally better environment (humidity levels, temperature?) for the HIV virus to survive. Alternatively, the tip of a penis normally protected by a foreskin may be more susceptible to abrasion during sexual intercourse, thereby providing a route for infection.
