Hey right wingers, fossilized thinkers: You can leave the country any time you want. |
|
There's no point trying to understand your Jurassic asses, or trying to play nice and get along. You don't like what's happening? Too bad. Fed up with us "candy assed bleeding hearts?" Then GET THE FUCK OUT, or GO TO THE REAR OF THE BUS.
We're driving it now.

Now it's time for them to chew on it some. They aren't even Americans, IMO.

These motherfuckers crushed a movement once, some forty years ago. I'm not sitting around this time, singing cumbaya and holding hands while they try to destroy us again. You don't want to fight fire with fire, fine. Just stay out of MY way.

|
So don't do us any favors.
This is not about who did what, but about our rights. If we cannot extend rights to others, like the right to speak out against what they feel is wrong, we cannot expect that right to be granted to us. If you take it away from them, you are taking it away from us too.
That's about as far as I can break it down... good luck... and leave the rest of us out of your crusade... thanks.

|
Jeez.
I said if they don't like what our president is doing, if they don't like the new direction of the country, then they can leave. Show me where I advocate taking anyone's rights away from them.

|
They don't want to change, they don't want to make things better for anyone except themselves and they don't care about the rest of the world. And yes, that broad brush is pretty much right on the money, from the hardest right to the fence-sitting libertarian.

22. Nonetheless I have no more right to tell the right to "Love it or leave it" than they do to tell me. |
|
While you are correct that "they don't care about the rest of the world" either, there's a lot of that on the left as well. Well, I guess we do "care" about the rest of the world to the extent that we worry about Mexican immigrants, Chinese factory workers and Indian service workers, not to mention Canadians and other "foreign threats" that pop up from time to time.
That is a great political strategy since only Americans can vote (fear of foreign influence is good politics in any country), but it makes is a little hypocritical to blast RW'ers for not caring about the rest of the world, when I haven't seen too many posts here on how to help Zimbabweans or Burmese or Brazilians.

for a civil war, then I believe the phrase,"love it or leave it" is rather mild. If they want to practice a form of domestic economic terrorism, then maybe the govt. could use those KBR camps that were for illegal aliens for a really good cause.
Fuck them. Do you get where I'm coming from?

"My way or the highway." "Love it or leave it." "Democrats want the US to lose in Iraq." "You're either with us or you're against us." "Nattering nabobs of negativism." They are all cliches uttered by Republicans over the years. I don't like their narrow hate-filled view of America.
Your view of an intolerant America is the mirror image of theirs. If President Obama and the party are not strong enough to expose repub intransigence and intolerance without resorting to repub tactics to achieve it, then you will be right. Until then you are not.

It's only 126 miles from where I live and yet a world away. I'm a nurse, so this isn't idle dreaming but I am poly so figuring out how to get my motley family up there is a little sticky but the dream doesn't die. And I would likely be like you, still quite willing to offer an opinion on my birth country. I was born in downwinder territory so I expect to face cancer at some time and it would be nice not to have that destroy my whole financial outlook, ya know?

Some people have posted some pretty venomous stuff to me in the past. Yes, being a nurse would help you greatly, but you gotta be willing to wait and put some cash up front. It never hurts to get started (I did it all myself BTW, with no lawyer).
Sorry to hear about your potential medical problems. My parents basically acknowledge that everything they dreamed up and worked for now has a price tag attached to it, to be sold when the first of them gets an ailment. Its no way to live.

38. No. People can change. |
|
15 years ago I was a fundamentalist Southern Baptist minister who strongly supported right-wing/Republican causes and even marched on abortion clinics.
Now I'm a freethinking atheist whose wife is a member of NARAL and neither of us would ever, ever, ever consider voting/supporting/condoning that archaic way of thinking.
I know that people can change and come to see the errors of their ways.
I have RW parents, RW friends, RW neighbors and I will not stop talking with them. Every time they say something about "liberals" I just smile and tell them that they're talking about me. It's amazing how many times they'll respond with something like, "Well, you know what I mean."
By continuing to talk to people you can help show them that "liberal" is not a bad word. Sure, we'll never convince everyone, but there's no need to treat fellow Americans poorly just because of ignorant political and/or religious beliefs.
