Our district manager on the Employee Free Choice Act:
So our district manager had something to tell us in management today when he visited our store. Just one sentence about it:

"Also remember be extra nice to everyone! The employee free choice act is a heart beat away and we can't have any unhappy people. It only takes a few"

bahahahaha. It's ever so amusing to see district management and above suddenly care if the average worker is happy. Too little too late I'm afraid my friend.

While we are nice to everyone at our store I can guran-freaking-tee you there are plenty of stores out there in which everyone gets treated like shit. Can't wait to see what happens when this act passes.

1. If your store is who I think it is...
They must be shitting smiley faces.

2. Everyone thinks Wal-Mart is the biggest bad guy. But while they get all the heat, companies like
yours (and I'm speculating) are working just as hard to defeat unions.

3. Does this district manager think that...
..."being extra nice" for a couple of days--is going to stop people from joining a union? Especially
if they've been working there for months or years--and they haven't been treated "extra nice."

Sounds like the type of district manager who really thinks employees are object to be manipulated.

Employees should be treated nice all of the time--not just when you're trying to manipulate them
out of their rights.

I know you know that TwixVoy. You're good people. Your district manager sounds like s/he is
in desperate need of some training in basic decency.

4. The lesson management fails to learn is that treating workers like shit drives them towards unions.
Unions were invented to check the power of abusive management.
