Back from the Interview.... looks good |
|
Just got back from the interview. Went well, took a little over an hour and that's always a good sign. Got the tour of facilities, shown the engineering/drafting offices and introduced to a few people - another good sign. He was duly impressed by my sample drawings. There are some things they do there that I haven't done since school, but it just means dragging out my cad engineering books and brushing up on it. He mentioned that he did get a last minute flurry of applicants from Penn State, and had one more interview to do on Monday. I sensed he was looking for someone with more experience as opposed to someone just out of school and likely to leave after a year - so that means I'm one up on the 20-somethings fresh out of school. Plus, chances are these other applicants are engineering majors, and interested in pursuing engineering instead of drafting - so again, the odds of one of them staying with the company long term is remote and a plus for me. ennywhooo - he said I would hear from him by next week, then he said soon. Soooo maybe he has already made up his mind?? Overall, I have a good feeling about it. Might just be wishful thinking working overtime, but maybe not.

I believe that if you had that "good feeling" from the interview, it is in the bag...so, I will just say congrats on your new job.

I have been having problems with my internet tubes and was wanting to express my concerns about your loss of job and how the man wanted to take advantage of you after the pink slip. I thought your response was a classic.
Looks as though things might be about to take a turn for the best. Hopefully you'll hear something by Friday.:hi:

13. You are setting a good example |

Some folks fall into dispair and think it's hopeless to try. It's easy to feel that way especially when you've been turned down or ignored after having applied for a hundred jobs. But if they will just give that 101st job opening their best effort...
I think it looks promising at this point too. Good luck.
