Irony alert - Tariq Aziz sentenced to 15 years for crimes
against humanity. 42 traders they say - so what about the million dead Iraqis? When will Bush, Cheney, et al be sentenced?

<snip>
Tariq Aziz, one of the closest advisers of deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, has been jailed for 15 years for his role in the executions of 42 merchants.

Aziz had denied any role in the summary trials of the men accused in 1992 of profiteering during economic sanctions.

A number of top regime figures signed the death warrants of the flour traders, including Ali Hassan al-Majid.

Aziz could have faced the death penalty for crimes against humanity. Last week, he was acquitted in a separate trial.

1. The media's going to downplay this one
The 'liberal' media wants it's story of Muslims waging a war on the world pure, and so they don't want you to hear about a Christian in Saddam Hussein's government perpetrating crimes against humanity.

3. He Was No Saint...
Just ask the Kuwaitis and Kurds. While the boooosh invasion was a war crime and absolutely wrong, that doesn't create some nullification for the war criminals that enabled Saddam Hussein as well...and Aziz was his public face for over a decade.

4. What's ironic about an actual war criminal and totalitarian thug
getting convicted?
