A huge sandstorm engulfs the Saudi capital of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tuesday, March 10, 2009. 1. I lived there (Riyadh) for 4 years - these sandstorms can be unbelievable

I had a friend with a Maserati who got caught in one between Riyadh and Dhahran. It stripped the chrome off his front bumper.

Happens every summer here. Makes a real mess in the pool.


haboob (dust storm) rolls in from the Gila River Indian reservation northward towards the south side of South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona.
