S. Carolina Has a Fuckwit for a Governor
Because Mark Sanford has deluded designs on running for president in 2012 he is turning down a portion of the stimulus package going to his state. A state which has the second highest unemployment rate in the country. Doesn't he get it? Apparently he is that stupid.

"We don't think it's a good idea to spend money that you don't have," Sanford said in Columbia.

Claiming the stimulus money would destabilize South Carolina's economy, Sanford said, "We need to look longer term and much more holistically at the notion of economic stimulus."

He said the $700 million he's turning down would harm his state's residents by increasing the federal budget deficit and building expectations for government programs that can't be sustained.

He thinks taking money meant to get his economy moving will destabilize that already fucked up economy.... :wtf:

Finally... does this guy ever get out? Because has he noticed that he has a snowballs chance in Hell of being the next president... :eyes:

1. Alabama
Bob Riley turned down $66 million for unemployment. The entrenched power at the statehouses in deep red state borders on a dictatorship.

2. Someone in the Justice Department needs to investigate who he has promised low unemployment premiums
Lower than other states in the country. That would be a good start.

5. Well, there may be a silver lining to this. Maybe the people in SC, AL, and other states

(most of them, that is) will finally get their heads out of their arses and elect a Democrat as Governor.

6. Well
since these Republican't Governors who are showboating by not taking the evil, tainted money all seem to think they can be elected president in 4 years are convinced they can get an entire nation to vote for them, I think it would be a terrific idea to not reelect a single one... but the old boys club in The South is pretty damned entrenched.
