Why did AIG funnel tax payer money to these guys?

2. remember when they gave EVERY employee a big fat bonus of like $33k or more?
That was just a couple of years ago, before the bubble burst (hmmm...kind of sounds like they knew the good times were coming to an end---though what am I saying, when no one could have foreseen this collapse, no one would have expected an attack on the WTC, etc. etc.)
