What will Labor Day be like this year???

Wouldn't it be great if people really observed Labor Day in a meaningful way this year?? Will organized labor be able to catch this populous wind and be heard for a change??

May Day!

1. The way things are going, most of us will have that day off because we won't have a job
I know a lot of people who have already lost their jobs, and even more who feel they are about to lose theirs - myself included. The actual unemployment numbers are much higher than is reported; I'm guessing we could easily have actual unemployment around 20% by Labor Day.

2. Do you mean...

...20% in your region? I don't think it will get that bad on a national level.

Well, with people being out of work, maybe someone can get them mobilized to stand up for their rights.

3. I think it will be that bad. UE numbers don't show chronic unemployed
who drop off the charts. I think they should count triple! It's likely worse than these numbers show right now.

4. Exactly
Unemployment numbers don't count people who have either used up all their unemployment, haven't filed for it, etc. The real unemployment numbers are already MUCH higher than is reported. With predictions of unemployment reaching over 10%, you can be sure that the REAL unemployment numbers will hit around 30-35%.
