Geitner needs to go - Treasury Department should welcome a lawsuit -one word: DISCOVERY |
|
The Treasury Department should cut these greedy bastards off at the knees and tell them to bring it on!
They should WELCOME lawsuits by AIG's execs because it would give them the legal standing to crawl up their asses with a scanning electron microscope under "discovery".
They wouldn't DARE sue the Treasury to ask for their 165 million in undeserved bonuses - no jury would ever give them dime one!

1. Agreed. My suggestion is that AIG agree to pay the bonuses -- but after the U.S. government has |
|
been repaid and AIG is once again profitable in the eyes of objective judges who are permitted to review every page of their books, every transaction.
This is about accountability. Delaying the performance of a contract for good reason is not the same as refusing to perform. And if the employees want to sue, use that as an excuse to make every transaction, every sale, public. Let's see what they did for their millions. Make them prove that they performed their ends of the contracts.

2. DISCOVERY - the civil investigation would probably lead to fraud and then RICO charges |
|
against these guys - I say they don't get dime one and bring the lawsuits on buddy if you think you are gonna get dime one and not end up in jail from them.

7. Also a good solution. I think if you told them they would get their |
|
bonuses after AIG was back in the black and the U.S. government was repaid, they would sue, and the discovery would reveal enormous fraud. I think courts would be more likely to rule in favor of the delay in paying than in breaking the contracts. But then I think that AIG under U.S. government appointed management could show that the guys getting the bonuses not only did not perform their contracts but committed fraud.

6. When both the Left and Right in Parties unite in wanting Geithner GONE... |

Then it seems it's the OBAMA REVOLUTION taking HOLD.
This is the PROMISE of OBAMA...YES WE CAN!
Let the PEOPLE and CONGRESS GO AFTER THE CRIMINALS...the President then DIRECTS. He's not an Activist President like Bush...he's a "People Oriented" President who moves when the PEOPLE MOVE HIM.
It's an interesting change...and let's see if it works. So far, I see it working. He was, after all, a Community Organizer ...and didn't see himself as a DICTATOR...like BUSH or even CLINTON (who failed on that score) because he was run by Wall St. and he just couldn't give them the whole candy store so..they sent in Lewinsky "snapping her thong" to seal the deal.
