2. OK, time to ease back on the meds here .......
I read your first few words as "Bill Moyers sits down with socialist historian Miles Davis . . . " and, for a second, I thought maybe I'd imagined he was dead. And he'd taken up a new field.

Ah, well. I'll have to stick with Mike Davis.

Sounds like a great show. Thanks for the heads up!

13. Who are the parties benefiting from this mess
Who holds power! Who are the beneficiaries of the system.
Great discussion Mike and Bill.

14. Oh man, this is required for everyone on this forum. Every American.
Out of pessimism, which I am pervaded by lately, I nearly didn't watch this interview.

He paints a picture of what makes a society a society. His words, such as "deglobalisation" just bring to life ideas that only my subconscious was holding.

He talks in big swaths, about how it is supposed to work, and why it is failing, and what to expect.

I had no idea he was this valuable.

And lastly he mentions his optimism that the left will be the beneficiary of a transfusion in the next year or two.

What I found most interesting is how he talks about the left not as being some fringe group, but as the most integral part of a functioning society. Like he talks about public bank ownership not... I don't remember. It's late.

I don't normally do this, but I am watching this twice. It's one of the most important interviews I have seen in a long time. I would call this basic democracy 101.

15. I watched "The Hunting of the President" to put current events into perspective!
Damn, for some perspective, compare that to Bush's free ride!!!

Reaction to Obama's comment on Leno reminds me of how Clinton was treated by the wingnuts.

17. Thank you for posting
this reminder. I DVR'd the show and just watched it. He's a man with incredibly bright and compassionate ideas. I do hope some of these ideas are infused into the Democratic party over the next 4, hopefully 8 years and we are not stuck with another corporate dominitated Clinton term(s).
