Bailed-out JP Morgan moves forward with $120 million jet buys John Byrne
Published: Monday March 23, 2009

Public relations doesn't appear to be the financial sector's forte these days.

JP Morgan Chase, fresh from a $25 billion government bailout, is purportedly moving forward with the purchase of two luxury corporate jets with a $120 million pricetag, along with an $18 million renovation at Westchester Airport outside New York City.

The two jets are Gulfstream 650 planes billed as the "fastest," "widest" and "most comfortable" "private jet ever with superior cabin amenities, an optional stateroom, and 12 interior designs to choose from," according to ABC News, which revealed the purchase.

3. I can hear it now: But, but, these were contractual obligations.
Chase should be nationalized and liquidated just for good measure. That company is a virus, and Citi is a strain of the same virus.

4. Ahh, our mortgage lender
We signed up for the homeowner stimulus, since DH is still not back to work. I look forward to bringing this up during any negotiation with them.

:woohoo:

5. Groan
I understand that from a monetary perspective, it may be more cost-effective to own a few planes to transport executives around the country/world. What I don't get is how any of them can justify luxury jets. Let those quasi-moguls buy used military planes and make them bring their own damned lunch. Stupid, greedy fops.
