The Democratic Congress: "The Shoes On the Other FUCKING FOOT NOW BEYOTCHES" |
|
Well, they actually didn't say that, and please excuse my profanity. But man it certainly feels good. Now that the Democratic Congress has passed a War Spending Bill WITH STRINGS ATTACHED, The Republicans and Bush especially, are going to have to make a decision: DO THEY SUPPORT THE TROOPS OR THEIR OWN POLITICAL AGENDA?!?!
We all know where their loyalties lie, but for the first time in a very long time, they are going to be exposed. Bush will VETO this bill and PUNISH THE TROOPS or he will PASS this bill and END THE IRAQ WAR. Puts him in a stalemate position that forces questions like "How come you won't fund the Troops, Bush?" or "Don't you think funding the troops is more important than your own political agenda?" or "For the sake of our troops, can't you work something out?" All the hard questions, all the FLIP-FLOPPING, will be put SQUARELY WHERE IT BELONGS: The Decider.

That is how the matter stands now, and how it must be pressed. Despite some bleating by various commentators that since President Clinton beat the Republican Congress in such confrontations, the administration will win, this is a fight the administration will lose: President Clinton was popular, this administration is not, and loses prestige daily in a welter of scandal, investigation, and manifest incompetence.

2. We have Murtha and Obey to thank |

for putting them in a box. The republics had to leave that hot potato alone.
Murtha has been right from day one.
