Everybody on the West Coast! If you have clear skies...
Go look west right now...

The tiny new crescent moon is visible low in the sky!

And it's gorgeous...

It's two days past the new moon, and I love the way it looks right now!

GO!

9. Hey, no problem!
I was remembering a tip you gave us one night, and I saw something you mentioned...

Can't remember what it was now, maybe an unusually large full moon...

Anyway, you were the inspiration for this thread!

Thanks!

We don't always get to, either...

I'm near the beach, and it's often cloudy here.

I hate it when that happens...

You will see it one sweet night!

I keep track in our newspaper...it tells the phase, and the setting times...

41. I caught a glimpse of it tonight here on Vancouver Island

Victoria, to be precise. It's been raining a lot, but not continuously. I saw it while riding the bus, just as it made a wide left turn toward the south. I remember thinking how beautiful it was, surrounded by dark, gloom-inducing clouds. A small magical reminder of....and then I forgot all about it until I read your message. Thank you, much

43. I saw the crescent moon as I went out running tonight
In fact it was right about 7:45, the time of your post.

During this time of year (late winter and early spring) the ecliptic is almost vertical at sunset and during the early evening, which makes it favorable for viewing the new moon and planets when they set after the sun.

The planet Venus, which had been very prominent in the evening sky earlier this year, has now just passed through inferior conjunction (March 27), and will soon be visible and prominent in the morning sky. However this time of year the ecliptic is at an angle to the earth in the morning, so Venus will not be high up. However Venus being as bright as it is one would not have a problem seeing it.

The planet Mercury will reach its greatest eastern elongation on April 26, and will be visible in the evening twilight during the time shortly before and after that date. Seeing Mercury is rather tricky, and it helps to know when the optimum times are for seeing it.

45. A new moon is also known as Diana's Bow in some Pagan paths..
It is a time for the men and the women to meet in separate circles. It is also the time of new beginnings and to start new projects.

That was part of Fantasia, too, if I recall correctly...

A most beautiful image!

I didn't know about the circles, or the beginning of projects.

Thank you for your contribution...
