My dad thinks it's bad for golf. I say listen to the people in the stands when the ball drops into the cup. I say look how few people watch on TV when Tiger's not playing. I say Tiger's done more for golf than his hero Arnie ever could. He just says hmmmpf.

I used to see him playing on the Navy course at Los Alamitos and at Heartwell in Long Beach. Even as a kid he had an entourage LOL.

Tiger has doubled up Arnie's major victories (14 to 7) and he's cruised past Arnie's PGA Tour victory total as well. Arnie was fortunate to come along right when the TV era was starting. Jack didn't get anywhere near enough credit for his greatness until it was obvious that he was the greatest ever, and it was because everyone worshiped Arnie since he came first...even though Jack was clearly better than him. And now it's pretty obvious that Tiger is the best ever. The level of competition in today's game is much deeper than it was back in the 60's and 70's. Johnny Miller once said when Tiger first turned pro that if Tiger won 12 majors and 50 times on the Tour, he might be the greatest ever. Well he's won 14 majors and 66 times on Tour, and he likely has another 17 years before he's "washed up" thanks to his physical fitness.
