Why I won't be voting for Bloomberg. |
|
It's not that I decided to vote for him for a third term. (I voted against him the first time and for him the second.) I always thought he was a Dem in Repub (and Independent) clothing. But his off the cuff remark when told about the repeal of the Rockefeller drug laws:
"Bloomberg responded, "They are? Good. Just what we need, to put more criminals back on the streets.""
I can't vote for a many that shows that much ignorance and uncaring at how much harm those laws have brought.
You'll probably buy another election Mayor Mike, but not with my vote.

1. My take on Bloomberg is I only like him compared to his predecssor, as |
|
I was rooting hard for Mark Green in that first, very narrow election.
I think Green is top-drawer and that that election was a sad lost opportunity for the City.
Agree with you that Bloomberg appears completely clueless on the draconian/reactionary Rockefeller-era drug laws. Very embarrassing.

2. Completely agree with your |
|
thoughts on Green and Giuliani. I wish there could be a viable contender to Bloomberg, but he has so much money to throw at the race, it will be near impossible to unseat him.

3. Hi, edhopper. Totally agree with you -- the man has some bucks to |
|
spend and he likely will pull out all the stops he needs to win again.
I'd just love to see that job turn to Democratic hands, though.
