New GM CEO doesn't have a clue. He doesn't get that No Jobs = No buying cars. |
|
He says that old programs like zero percent financing aren't working. Zero percent financing was a scam to get people in and then they bought and financed. I knew very very few people that got zero % financing. What they don't understand or will say publicly is the drop in sales is because people have lost their jobs. What they are saying on TV is totally ludicrous, it is just put forth to get the bailout money. No jobs = no people buying cars. Just fired GM CEO Wagoner didn't care. He got his ten million.

commercial.
If they really cared, they would roll back prices... and actually come out with modern cars.
I valeted cars for a few months recently for a company with very wealthy Dallas area business clients. After driving high-end cars day after day, it was easy to see that the American cars were crap compared to their Japanese and European counterparts.
This is not the fault of the worker, this is a fault of the management. It's a shame. Unfortunately, american car management is not ashamed. They should be.

even IF you can afford one... with all the talk about bankruptcy and restructuring seems like there is alot of risk buying a GM or Chrysler product.. will the dealership still BE THERE next year?? where do i take my car if they are gone??? warranty guaranteed by the government?? they change the rules every friggin week! how do I know they wont change the terms of my warranty at some point?? and how can i trust the quality when so many of the workers who build these cars are pissed off! earning less getting benefits cut! unsure if they will even have a job in the morning?? the U.S. auto industry is dying a slow and painful death! it`s a shame really!
