Happy 5th birthday, Air America Radio! |
|
On March 31, 2004, Air America Radio lanched. Too bad that their lineup today is a pale comparison to what it was in the beginning. LTR has a more detailed history of AAR http://ltradio.blogspot.com/2009/03/five-years-later-air-america-and.html">on his blog site.

1. Those of us in the DC area no longer have it. |

Cause why would the nation's capital need progressive talk radio!
(Happy to stream it, but it's not the same)

The "flagship" station in NY has nothing but nutrition groupies all morning and Screaming Preachers on Sunday.. And then they fill their air with "moderate", corporate friendly Dems.
Rachel is the only progressive voice left there.

3. It was a great idea until the right wingers and DLC'ers got involved. |

Thanks to AAR for introducing me to Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, Sam Seder, Rachel Maddow, and Mike Malloy.
Only one of those people still remains with the company, and they won't even give the guy a show. And that's a great example of how AAR went bad faster than a carton of expired milk.
