11. Attended a Moody Blues concert yesterday.
It was Graeme Edge's birthday.

He said it was the fortieth anniversary of his turning 28.

12. WOW!!! Fantastic.
If I had to be stuck on an island, I would choose to take their albums and that would be enough music.

24. Yep, they put on a great show - lots of numbers played.

It was different from one I saw over 10 years ago.

Gordon Marshall is the second drummer, and is impressive.

Norda Mullen has replaced Ray Thomas, and she is also impressive.

There was an evolved feeling about the Moody Blues, but still it was still them in essence.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUiHVfzUd4o

The last and second last songs played were my favorites: Nights, Question.

Justin's voice has held up well.

They played "One more time to live" saying times had changed where maybe it was necessary again.

Desolation
Creation
Evolution
Pollution
Saturation
Population
Annihilation
Revolution
Confusion
Illusion
Conclusion
Starvation
Degradation
Humiliation
Contemplation
Inspiration
Elation
Salvation
Communication
Compassion

~~Solution~~

etc

Check their website - they have a few gigs in CA now.

25. Didn't INXS do something similar?
http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/inxs/mediate.html

Ahhhh...This is what it brought to mind....

INXS LYRICS

Mediate

"Mediate"

Hallucinate
Dessegregate
Mediate
Alleviate
Try not to hate

Love your mate
Don't suffocate on your own hate
Designate your love as fate
A one world state
As human freight
The number eight
A white black state
A gentle trait
The broken crate
A heavy weight
Or just too late
Like pretty Kate has sex ornate
Now devastate
Appreciate
Depreciate
Fabricate
Emulate
The truth dilate
Special date
The animal we ate
Guilt debate
The edge serrate
A better rate
The youth irate
Deliberate

Fascinate
Deviate
Reinstate
Liberate
To moderate
Recreate
Or detonate
Annihiliate
Atomic fate

Mediate
Clear the state
Activate
Now radiate
A perfect state
Food on plate
Gravitate
The Earth's own weight
Designate your love as fate
At ninety-eight we all rotate

Hallucinate
Dessegregate
Mediate
Alleviate
Try not to hate

Love your mate
Don't suffocate on your own hate
Designate your love as fate
A one world state
As human freight
The number eight
A white black state
A gentle trait
The broken crate

A heavy weight
Or just too late
Like pretty Kate has sex ornate

Now devastate
Appreciate
Depreciate
Fabricate
Emulate
The truth dilate
Special date
The animals we ate
Guilt debate
The edge serrate
A better rate
The youth irate
Deliberate
Fascinate
Deviate
Reinstate

Liberate
Liberate
Liberate
Liberate

26. Moody's song was on a 1971 allbum.
INXS was only formed in 1977.

6. yes they did
funny thing was that his birthday (which is also mine) was the reason I voted for him back in 2000 (I was 20 and knew nothing about politics then, we all do stupid things).

19. Happy Birthday, President Who Wouldn't Have Increased Arsenic Levels In Drinking Water
My wife got a copy of Silent Spring for me to read. Some of it is admittedly old hat now, but some of Rachel Carson's revelations still disturbed me. Would that you were in the White House, Al!

29. Happy birthday to a truly great man who definitely will live on
in history for all his fine accomplishments. We were robbed of a great Presidency by the Bush* family and the Supreme Court and we will continue to pay the consequences for that robbery for a number of years. Yes elections have consequences as people are fond of saying, but thefts of elections can have immeasurable devastating effects on a society, as many are still learning.

Much love goes out from my house to the house of Al and Tipper Gore for their contributions throughout the years. And thanks again, Al, for writing the legislation that gave the Arpanet to the people at the conclusion of the cold war. You were the only one who took an interest in its future impact on our society, and how fortunate we are today and everyday we have the Internet to communicate with and ironically use to wish you a happy day.

Sam
