Casual Friday? Fort Lauderdale employee accused of getting naked

Things got a little crazy in the city's public works department earlier this year. The city's safety coordinator allegedly stripped down to his socks and walked into a co-worker's office. Right before that he had brandished a sign that said "It's Friday'' on one side, and "Let's get naked'' on the other, the co-worker complained.

She wasn't receptive to the idea of seeing her colleague in the buff.

End result: David Daley was put on administrative leave and then resigned Feb. 2, because of the January incident. He couldn't immediately be reached for comment at his Miramar home. (If this all sounds familiar, maybe you read Elgin Jones' report about this last week at South Florida Times.)

Police documented the case. The incident was considered a "lewd/lascivious'' act, which would be a misdemeanor, city police records say. Employee Daniela Metz signed a waiver of prosecution, writing that she was "not looking to get anybody in any more trouble.'' Reached at work Monday, she declined comment.

I hope this doesn't catch on. I REALLY don't want to see that much of my coworkers!

5. This ploy didn't sweep her off her feet?
My goodness! I'm going to have to re-calibrate my entire dating strategy. I don't think anyone could have foreseen this not working. Okay, maybe if you were over the age of, say, 2. But gee whiz!

8. There is naked and then there is "nekkid".
You are nekkid if you are looking for trouble. My sister has always called topless bars and such "nekkid places."

9. Oh God, NO!
I, at least, have a body that could be shown publicly. However, I really don't want to see the overweight population of this country strolling around nude. :puke:

11. Humans weren't always so stupid about nakedness
.
.
.

Clothing was invented for warmth and protection, not to hide body parts.

Then we perverted the clothing thing into "class" for political and power reasons;

Then the religions got in there to hide the body parts.

Loincloths were invented to protect the hunters' dangly parts as they chased game through the bush - a wee branch can give that little guy a nasty smack . .

There are still some "uncivilized" nations/tribes where nudity is not an issue, but they are few and far between.

I remember as a kid in the 50's being AMAZED at the pictures of people in National Geographic - dangly parts and boobies! - WOW!

Just an FYI - In Ontario Canada, it is completely legal for a woman to walk around topless

sadly, I've never seen it happen

waiting . . :silly:

10. Why did he keep his socks on?
Few things make a guy look dorkier than being naked with socks on. Especially dark socks.
