Thousand on the streets on London
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7975597.stm
<snip>
housands of anti-capitalist and climate change protesters are taking part in a series of demonstrations in London to coincide with the G20 summit.

Police are carrying out a huge security operation in the City of London and anti-war groups are due to gather near the US Embassy and at Trafalgar Square.

Thousands of noisy protesters have converged on the Bank of England.

Most protests are expected to be lawful but four people have been charged. All police leave has been cancelled.

Hundreds from various protest groups under the G20 Meltdown banner had set off on "Financial Fools' Day" marches from four Tube stations.

They had urged many who had lost homes, jobs, savings or pensions to join them in following four "horsemen of the apocalypse" to "lay siege" to financial institutions.

With the global economic downturn gathering pace, police have said plans for the protests are "unprecedented" in their scale and that 5,000 officers were on the capital's streets.

1. Reporting 6 arrests now. And CNN tried to read a Tshirt. :)
They apparently thought better of it. Wasn't the nice message you know.

14. Seems ironic to me...
He's wearing blue jeans, he probably ate food he didn't grow himself, took a car or a tram somewhere. He is a consumer as much as anyone else.

18. Would you rather he wear a loincloth?
Everyone does a certain amount of consuming, but the thing these folks are protesting is the rampant consumerism that is the norm of just a small, but very wealthy, segment of our world populace at the expense of so many that barely have food to eat.

That I have to explain this on a democratic website boggles the mind.
