GONZO to dangle in the wind... bush support dwindling? |

Ex-aide contradicts Gonzales on firings By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer 3/29/07 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070329/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/fired_prosecutors;_ylt=AolHWlqChFdLY8E4Ai7.EH2s0NUE---snip---
-->>>> The White House stepped back from defending Gonzales even before Sampson finished testifying.
"I'm going to have to let the attorney general speak for himself," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said as Sampson entered his third hour before the senators. Noting that Gonzales is not scheduled to appear publicly on Capitol Hill until an April 17 hearing in front of the same Senate panel, she added: "I agree three weeks is a long time."

3. Does firing Gonzo end this scandal? |
|
I'm not so sure about that. Congress is kicking ass on a daily basis and there's little chance they'll let this end at Gonzo. Rove is next.

5. Gonzo gone - will it end the scandal? |
|
I doubt it, since many e-mails reveal Rove's involvement.
This is more than just firing 8 US Attorneys - it's about WHY they were fired.
When the founding fathers created 3 branches of government - they were suppose to act as a check and balance to each other. The judiciary, especially, was suppose to be independent.
As this ball of "yarns" unravel - we find interference and manipulation into a multitude of other scandals. Some of the fired US Attorneys were working on cases involving Republican members of Congress, others were urged to focus on Democratic members and candidates.
We also know that Rove was trying to stack things ahead of the 2008 elections.
There is also the Cunningham Scandal - which we are now finding dots connecting all the way to Cheney's office.
Toss in such things as an ever-changing story about the firings coming from Gonzales, Goodling saying she will plead the 5th, "secret" e-mail accounts to avoid subpoenas, threatening potential witnesses to keep them quiet and the White House's own refusal to allow hearings to be under oath and with a transcription.
And what about that little ticky-tact Republican play on the "rules" yesterday which shut down the hearings temporarially. What was that REALLY about? Attempt to delay the hearing for a few days? Interrupt the hearing so 'someone' could have a friendly little chat with Sampson, remind him of the "loyal bushie oath"?
Just like Watergate became unraveled with a "simple break-in" - the firings are unraveling 6 years of back-door deals, manipulations, mis-leads and other dirty dealings.
