Wouldn't it be great if Obama stopped a terrorist attack.
This is just idle fantasy. But What if Obama (and by Obama I mean the people who are really trying to protect us in Government)prevented an attack.
I'm tired of hearing about how Bush "kept us safe", without on concrete example of an actual attack being thwarted. (I think if there was one they'd still be crowing about it.)
So what if we stopped one now, wouldn't that be great. Obama does what Bush could not. Makes me smile to think about it.

3. do you mean the terrorist attacks inflicted by the United States in
Iraq and Afghanistan on the people there? or the terrorist attacks on the US by the people who are angry at us for occupying their countries?
I get so confused about which terrorists we speak of on here.

5. ACK! NO!
What would be great would be if nobody even tried a terrorist attack on the US or its allies. It would be great if people who feel they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by terrorizing others would realize they actually have much MORE to gain by joining the family. It would be great if the leaders of Al Qaeda woke up one morning and said "Man, this just isn't working. It isn't getting us anywhere."

Stopping a terrorist attack when Bush could not wouldn't change anything. Obama's detractors would NEVER concede that point - they'd merely point to all the attacks Bush supposedly protected us from after 9/11 (most or all of which I am convinced were mythical). It wouldn't change them and it wouldn't change the world.

No matter what Barack Obama does or doesn't do, some people will find fault. That's just the way it is. Hoping to prove them wrong is a fool's errand. Better, imo, to just let them fall farther into irrelevancy as the rest of us go about our business trying to clean up the mess and let the sun in.

6. I agree with you
but I think, just like their perpetual call for tax cuts has become a parody that the American People by and large disregard, their final defense of Bush will equally be scoffed at. Marginalizing them even more.

Sometimes I don't know which is worse, the killing or the celebration of death for political gain.

8. Yours is one of those posts that when I read it I say to myself "I wish
I could write/talk like that." All I could think of in a response was "no" with a couple of extra words (post #1)

14. Nah
Thank you for the nice compliment, but there's much to be said for making the point in a few words - greater impact, for one. I tend to go on and on and that's not always a good thing. Your post made the most important point. :)

13. it would also be nice if he would stop the mass murders by the united states military
in Iraq and Afghanistan ...which is why people want to attack us in the first place...
unfortunately, many in the USA do not see themselves as the terrorists.

16. It would be great if he were to spot a terrorist in a crowd and throw a basketball at him, bonking
him on the head just hard enough for the authorities to take the terrorist into custody thus saving the Queen.
