How does Peggy Noonan hold a job? |
|
Her analysis is consistently off-base. She is discussing the tea-parties now and claims they weren't about hating Obama, that the tea-baggers were actually upset at the Republicans, too. They were more Libertarian, and were actually protesting big government.
How completely out of touch can one be? Did she actually SEE any of the tea-bag rally tapes? Listen to any of the protesters?
Peggy Noonan is a fucking idiot.

If you didn't know what her background or topic was, you'd swear she was a retired porn star talking about her favorite on-screen partner.
She's always been a fucking idiot.

The one teabagger that I know, who voted twice for Bush, consistently says that Repubs are more to blame than Dems for the financial mess that we're in. He thinks Obama is a Socialist Muslin Fascist Weatherman, but my friend has been consistent in his criticism of Repubs, and he says that all his peeps feel the same. He also consistently says that he's not a racist and I know he's not. He's in Atlanta and teabagged there.
Just sayin'...

My point was that he's not all teabaggers are racist, and he understands that the Repubs are to blame for our economic problems.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: go to the closest high school in your area, get a copy of the student newspaper, and you'll find journalists with more talent than Noonan ever dreamed of having. The woman can't write, pure and simple. She was a designated ball-washer for a couple of Republican administrations, she offered time and again to leap upon Reagan's funeral pyre, and those were good enough credentials for the WSJ. Mind boggling. She remains entertaining, in a really perverse sort of way.....

Explain Bill Kristol, Newt Gingrich, Bill Bennet and all the other asshats that are ALWAYS WRONG about everything (especially Kristol). How do these buffoons get on the air? The networks are lazy and always have a fall back list of bozos eager to go on the air and spout some nonsense bullshit. Did I mention Pat Buchanan? You'd think being Irish and Catholic he'd understand racism. But none of them seem to understand anything.

16. However off base she often is she won a little place in my heart last year |
|
as the Wright frenzy was going wild. The Monday after it broke she was on mourning joe where they were really screeching about the horror and the poor white people and adios Obama. They asked her what she thought, of course expecting what they got from everyone else, some THIS IS TERRIBLE reaction.
Instead she was the voice of reason. She said she wasn't sure how this would affect his candidacy but if there was anyone that could turn something like this into something really good for America it was him. She said several thoughtful things but finished with hoping he would take a little time by himself and sit and write what was in his heart and use his tremendous skills to give a speech about race. She felt he would turn this into a teaching moment and a healing thing. I can't tell you what it was like to hear that calm in a storm. They got rid of her as quickly as they could to continue with their frenzy.
I sought and read her column for the first time after his speech. Wheras Buchanan write of this being the same old con job we've heard before and how blacks never expressed gratitude Peggy yhad wonderful things to say about it. She heard it, it moved her and she said great things, finding only one fault with it. The one fault she talked about shows how out of touch she is. She felt his talk about pverty, employment and housing and school problems were some Dem spin that was weak...she said he was talking about the problems of decades ago that didn't exist today. The bubble she lives in hadn't gotten the news yet. Obama saw people with those very real problems all over the place, it wasn't in Peggy's world then.
I will probably rarely agree with her but I will not forget the voice of sanity she was then
