MSNBC: Senior Intel source says Cheney has made no request for declassifying memos

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30325495/

<snip>

In the interview, Cheney said "I've now formally asked the CIA to take steps to declassify those memos so we can lay them out there and the American people have a chance to see what we obtained and what we learned and how good the intelligence was, as well as to see this debate over the legal opinions."

But a senior intelligence official tells NBC News "The Agency has received no such request from the former Vice President."

The official says if they received such a request, they would decide on a case by case basis.

3. It would only be news
if Cheney didn't lie, and, since that's not going to happen, just move along, nothing to see here .........................

2. Does Cheney even have the authority to request these memos?
I may be wrong, but I don't recall other former Presidents or VPs doing anything like this.

5. Do you recall former VPs badmouthing the
brand new President?

I don't.

Cheney doesn't give a shit about protocol or rules or procedure. They don't apply to him, didn't you know that? He's above the law, as we so sadly had the opportunity to learn during the past eight years.

He says and does whatever he wants with total arrogance and impunity, since he knows he's never going to be held accountable for anything he says or does. He's above the law........................

16. No, I've never heard this kind of thing from any former Prez or
VP. It's disgusting and disgraceful.

But I'm just wondering if the CIA even has to honor such a request if it existed.

14. That was my first thought.
They are probably busy manufacturing reports, about a guy who smuggled in nukes, who ended up getting caught by locking himself in a phone booth and couldn't get out. Stuck, the guy called the terrorist they were torturing for help, and the terrorist told them to help unlock the guy stuck in the phone booth, in between water boarding. DeadEye Dick will soon be requesting these "official" documents soon.
