Kind of silly question for any psychologists or etymologists
Edited on Wed Apr-22-09 03:16 AM by Believing Is Art
I was talking to someone today and a question came up that stumped us both.

Is there a clinical term for fear of Dick Cheney? It seems like there should be.

Edit: Okay, I think I've made up a good one. The surname "Cheney" is derived from French and it means "oak." The Latin translation is Quercus. To differentiate this from fear of oak trees in general, I took some liberties.

Quercuphallophobia - A healthy fear of Dick Cheney.

1. Well, I was a psych major and I don't think fear of Cheney is a phobia...
It seems perfectly rational and normal to me... :scared:

One of my most favorite clips:

Cheney - A big bowl of bad

7. Letterman was hysterical during the Cheney shooting incident.
Had Biff (his stage manager) running around in hunting gear, shooting a shotgun and bodies falling from the ceiling... :wow:

And it looks like Cheney is hitting the front page, again... Even based on Letterman's video, I don't think it's in the least abnormal to fear Cheney. I once had a really bad dream and he was in it. It was during the time he was in that very eerie wheelchair and that's how he appeared in my dream. I stopped and shook hands with him and my friend, in my dream, asked me "why?!" And I replied that I was just so shocked to see him, thought he was long gone. Apparently, it was a premonition. :scared:

8. Inneresting. No phobia specific to male genitalia.
Not really surprising I guess when you consider what a giggle that ridiculous appendage actually is.

10. Yeah. It's actually a sign of a healthy, fully functioning mind
if you ask me.

Perhaps NOT fearing Cheney is what one would call "being in denial."
