why are the UAW benefits not compared to the benefits that unionized Japanese autoworkers have |
|
Every time I here that UAW is making too much, I have to ask: "Too much, in comparison to what?"
They are not making too much in comparison to Wall Street bankers.
They do not have the same job security as Japanese autoworkers have. I don't believe that their wages/benefits are more than the auto workers in Japan.
The UAW wages are greater than the wages paid by transplants who deliberately chose to set up factories in union unfriendly states in the US. These companies use their transplants for the same reason the relocate plants in the third world: cheaper labor than what they could have at home.

1. does japan have healthcare for all, or is their healthcare like ours? |
|
because if it is for all, then that should be considered as well since the company wouldn't have to offer it to the workers.

EVERY other industrialized country has health care as a right not a luxury.

3. I lived in Japan and they have universal health care |
|
but you can leave that out and just compare on other benefits and I believe the Japanese worker comes out ahead.
