Unintended consequences to the Daylight savings time change.
They thought, back in 2005, that changing the date of DLST would save fuel. It didn't. People went out more because it was daylight according to ABC news. The retailers did make more money, but there was no fuel savings as congress said there would be.

Also the change has caused serious damage to migratory birds. Because of the change they are arriving an hour late at feeding grounds only to find that they are closed. Others are finding over crowding and missed meetings.

Should we continue the new Daylight Savings Time dates? Maybe congress should reconsider.

1. They need to tell people to turn down the heat in their homes when they go out!!!
That'll equalize the equation!!! And carpool to the mall!!! Hell, all those people together, throwing off heat, that's a savings right there!

Seriously, I LIKE DST. We should just stay with it.

I like squirrels... but not chewing on my wiring.

14. Nice machine. The pedals look different? Are they and what
type are they. I used to have a recumbent back in the early 80's. It was a short wheelbase Hypercycle. It was a cheapie, but it was very fast. It tended to tip forward when panic stopping.

This isn't my bike, but very similar.

26. It was hard to tell what they were from looking at them.
It looked like they had a long platform.

Because of my injuries I cannot have a bike over thirty pounds. I can't lean back far, and I can't reach up above my shoulders. I am also poor as a church mouse so most are out of my price range. SSI leaves little money for goodies like new bikes.

At times I felt their components were overly complicated. I like Suntour. There was a simple elegance to them. The anodizing was pretty good too, not to Campagnolo standards, but good.

In fact, the OP prompted me to have a look at my computer time compared to the time on my cable box. And sure enough, and yet again, my computer's time is wrong. Anyone else notice this with your machine?

28. IF YOUR COMPUTER IS WRONG FIX IT CORRECTLY!
it is because you need to get a DST patch from Microsoft. Simply unchecking "automatically adjust" will not do the trick. Here is the timeline:

pre-2005 Windows XP comes out with the DST "hard coded" into its programming (meaning XP knows the exact date of the DST based on the DST calendar.
2005 Congress changes the laws (ie DST calendar) and windows xp now has the wrong DST for every date after Spring 2007!
2007 (pre DST) Microsoft makes a patch but for some reason not everyone gets it (either Microsoft incorporated it into sp2 after people downloaded it and the patch wasn't made available as critical download individually, i'm not sure).

2007 (post DST) most people who see that their time is off think "stupid computer" and uncheck that box.

What that does is mess up your internal clock. Let me explain.

Lets say my clock says 3:00 PM and yours says 3:00 Pm. if you send me an e-mail, it encodes your time and DST setting, and then my computer tranlates the time to account for the fact that you don't have daylight savings time and our computers are 1 hour difference even in the same time zone.

So anyway, you need to go find the XP patch for your computer for DST and fix it.

We had a HUGE problem at work because we assumed the windows update would patch for time. Then once we figured out DST patch was seperated and patch the servers we had another problem because windows server 2000 didn't get a patch (no longer "supported by microsoft" so we had to get a 3rd party patch. Then the mobile computers w/o access to the internet had a problem because they didn't have the patch but the servers they talked to had a patch. It was a 3 week fiasco.

For those uninformed about UTBITC... it is a benevolent and philanthropic society whose sole cause is to:

Update The Bird's Internal Time Clock. Sheesh! It appears our marketing dollars have been ill-spent.
