How does Obama have time for his family? |
|
With so many problems consuming our nation at this time, he must wish there were 25 hours in the day? How can he possibly give his two little girls and his wife the attention they need with so much happening? I'm sure it must be very difficult?

but he (and any POTUS) has help insofar as his family is well cared for by all the available staff; he LIVES where he works; after a full day of 'work' he has a full dinner with the family, can go back to work a few steps away, say goodnite to the family, and go back to work AGAIN, if he'd like.
AND he has the place and time (mornings, I think) to get in the exercise he needs and enjoys, with Michelle as well.

3. he's probably spending more time with them compared to his time in Senate. |
|
He saw them on weekends and Congressional breaks when he was in the Senate. Even less during the long campaign. Now he lives and works in the same building, has dinner with them every evening and helps them with homework (when he's not traveling). He's spending much more time with them than many moms and/or dads who commute long distances to work.

4. The family lives above the store, and he sees them for breakfast and dinner then goes back to work |
|
Weekends they head out for Camp David.
As organized as Michelle and Barack Obama are, I think they manage the juggling act pretty well after so many years as a two-career marriage.

7. Less difficult than a working class father |
|
especially one holding down two jobs trying to keep his family above water.
When I was growing up during the school year I only saw my father on weekends. He worked the swing at an auto factory. He was asleep when I went to school; he'd gone to work when I came home. Even in the 1950's the Pleasantville myth was just that -- a myth.
Ask most members of the armed forces about quality time with the kids, especially the ones on their fourth tour in the downtown business section of hell. By the way current policy is first term enlisted have to place their kids in what amounts to foster care; they can't have the kiddies with them. Nice, eh?
Starting with oil riggers to airline pilots this society is replete with parents who don't have a lot of time with their families.
At least President Obama can look out his office window and see his kids playing in the yard.

8. it's called making time. its not the amount that matters as much as the quality. |

 It's all about quality because those times are filled with memories that I cherish, quantity never crosses my mind though early times for me had many long absences.
