Isn't it amazing how we find out about things? |
|
Having Swine Flu madness hit DU, there is lots of good and some not quite so good information. It is very interesting to me what people post, who finds what, etc.
Rather like people found out, hopefully, some good info about AK with Palin's nomination. And other things have caused us to come here, share info, read and learn about things we may not have known much about before.
Very interesting and amazing to me. Thank you all for sharing

remember the last swine flu scare and I was an adult with 6 kids.
Information was available, but limited. Much easier, much less fear.

And I tend to lean towards the "err on the side of caution" crowd.
If nothing comes of this flu, who's to say it isn't because immediate action was taken in all effected areas?

3. When we have a disease outbreak |
|
We have to hope the CDC has the resources and intelligent people to handle it. Other than that, there is nothing really you can do but common sense precautions.
The fact of the matter is that an epidemic due to air travel will spread very fast in today's world. You have to hope and pray that the health officials have modeled something like this and that their plan to combat it has been tested so it will cause the least amount of harm.
