Iowa man charged with cutting pacemaker from dad's chest |

MANCHESTER, Iowa - Authorities in northeast Iowa say a man faces charges accusing him of cutting a pacemaker out of his father's chest.
The Delaware County sheriff's office said in a statement Sunday that 32-year-old Jesse Fierstine of Manchester struck his 63-year-old father, Charles Fierstine, on the head with a flashlight and a piece of firewood Saturday, then cut the pacemaker from his chest using a pocketknife.
The statement said the younger Fierstine was charged with attempted murder.

3. I imagine the father would suffer a severe flesh would..don't think the pacemaker is set |

was in severe discomfort from the pacemaker or battery pack for some reason, and begged the son to remove it? That is the only reason I can think of that a person would attempt something so strange and dangerous. Not that it would be a good enough reason still, but...
