I agree with what I think is your implication, that these are serious times and the stakes are high for the nation and the world. But if we can't have a laugh now and then, then truly the Republicans have won.

PS - If you find it annoying, I understand, even if I disagree, but "sick" is a little overboard, IMHO. There's a goldmine of funny stuff on this site every day (check my journal for weekly compilations going back to the beginning of the year). It's all part of what makes DU such a treasured experience for me, at least.:)

If you have been fooled by even one April Fool's thread title, you have larger issues to deal with. Meanwhile, DUers will continue to decide what to post and where to post it; and the mods will clean up any mistakes. I have spent time in combat and in radiation-oncology, and while some things are indeed, NOT VERY FUNNY, I have always been able to maintain my sense of humor.
