Do you remember the time, Nixon |
|
Had said he felt Manson was guilty of the Tate and La Blanca Murders, and it nearly caused a Mistrial? Maybe that is why Obama has to walk a fine line. Being a lawyer, he has to know he can't come out and call Bush and Cabal guilty of torture. He has to walk a fine line.
He was clear tonight, He called Water-boarding torture...but would not go so far as calling those responsible ordering it, guilty of torture...

and therefore I will hold my criticism of how this is being handled for now. I want to see Bush Cheney and so on behind bars, but only if a full four years have passed and nothing has happened, I will be pissed at this administration.

I get the feeling Obama is walking a legal tightrope here. He is just trying to define his job. The Justice will be left to the correct department of government.

3. I think you're right. Obama is smart enough to know he must be careful about what he says. |

Even something meant to be a casual example will get twisted somehow into an endorsement.
I agree with the person who said another country will force our hand. The AG is on record stating that we will have to cooperate with investigations from other countries. We signed treaties, and we can't just walk away from that obligation.
I'm sure the story will be, "...this isn't the road we wanted to take, but we have an international responsibility through treaties we signed long ago, and we are obligated to cooperate..."
