Question re: Wingnut conspiracy theorists and George Soros. |
|
Have any of these Yo-Yos ever proposed an actual mechanism by which billionaire Soros was supposed to have brought down the financial markets to realize the worldwide ACORN conspiracy to place a Kenyan Muslim Terrist into the White House?
Or are they utterly unembarrassed to spout buzzwords and wild conspiracy theory without any shred of proof?

3. If a right-winger talks long enough, he eventually mentions Soros. |
|
It generally isn't long before you hear both "Soros" and "ACORN" in any given Hannity rant or FR thread. I usually laugh out loud, since I never, ever hear liberals mention either one in any connection at all, yet we are all supposedly beholden to them for our every thought and whim.
Isn't ACORN a somewhat ragtag group that finds housing for poor people? Why does that scare the wingnuts so much that they have to mention this obscure group in every second sentence? And if Soros is pulling our strings to such a degree, shouldn't we at least hear from him from time to time? I haven't got the faintest idea what he believes about anything, and I keep up with this stuff.
I think it's just more Wingnut Projection Syndrome: they take their marching orders from Limbaugh and Fox "News", so they figure we must be robotically following authoritarian directives from above like they are. But we're not.

Guess it's time to MoveOn up to the FISA secret prison camps.
(Ironically, the first talk of mass inprisonment under cover of FISA dates back to Reagan from when Ollie North was involved with it. The idea was that if Reagan had garnered enough support for direct military action in Nicaragua there wouldn't be any Vietnam War-style protests; organizers and protesters would be rounded up and imprisoned in these camps. But Reagan didn't get that much support, so he backed the Contra groups instead.)

15. Long Time Strawman Games... |
|
For years, the wingnuts have tried to claim they were victims of some massive conspiracy by Democrats. In the 80's, blacks were the conspiracy...being bought off by Democratic bosses with cigarettes and registered to vote. In the 90's, Clinton was surely bringing in millions of Mexicans and letting them vote. Over the years, the conspiracies have flourished and been embellished.
ACORN is a natural extension of that strawman...they now are supposedly the active agents of buying off black and Hispanic votes. It plays right into the right wing's racist MO and is fanned by hate radio. Soros came about during the booshie years to explain how Hollywood and other "big money" was being filtered to Democrats ala how various right wing groups did for boooshie and his ilk. It was to deflect attention from the booooosh "Pioneers" and "Rangers" and all the special interests that were really in control of things. He became a major focal point after the Abramoff scandal broke as there surely had to be a Democratic equivelent.
There's NO proof. Yes, Soros has given money to many Democratic candidates and causes and ACORN works to register minority voters...the rest is left to the right wing brain stems to embellish.
