David Gregory To Anchor Weekly MSNBC Show
In an interview with the Baltimore Sun's David Zurawik, NBC's David Gregory confirmed what has been buzzed about for a few days - that he'll be hosting a one-hour weekday show on MSNBC.

When asked for specifics on the heightened MSNBC presence, Gregory said, "What I'm going to try to do is appear where I'll be anchoring an hour once a week at this stage, because I want to be a presence on all of our platforms. And our cable operation MSNBC is terrific....We haven't worked out the details, but the thinking is we'll try to do it Wednesdays at 11 a.m."

The Gregory show, the hiring of Dylan Ratigan, and Andrea Mitchell's 1pmET hour shows NBC is continuing to put stock in the dayside operations of MSNBC by adding more well-known personalities. But will it work?

Gregory's chat with Zurawik was part of a Baltimore swing for the NBC newsman. He also talked with WBAL radio's Rob Lang. On the issue of that stand up/sit down Obama/Bush discrepancy, "Gregory agreed with CBS Correspondent Mark Knoller that the press corps meant no disrespect to President Bush when they didn't stand for him. He noted that the briefing room is the one informal room in the White House, where reporters don't stand up when the president enters. Anywhere else, the protocol calls for people to stand when the president enters the room."

3. Ick. Another reason to bypass daytime GE-TV.
Wonder if the title of the show will be Dancing with the Turdblossom.

7. I won't be watching, and I've also stopped watching MTP...
Not a fan of DG especially since the way he treated poor Michael Smerkonish(sp).

9. At Least It Only One Hour
once per week.

My guess, they are trying to up his visibility to improve MTP ratings. Try to get some of the increase MSNBC has seen and roll it over to MTP.
