Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that there's more to the torture stories?

Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion that there's more to the torture stories?
Edited on Mon May-11-09 01:32 PM by KansDem
Considering all the brouhaha about torture and the spin going on in the media to make it more palatable ("Bush was only protecting Americans!"), I wonder if there's something else going on. Like trying to coverup a huge criminal enterprise.

We all know there was a large amount of corruption in the Bush/Cheney administration. But what if the torture was intended to get information to advance criminal activity? We all know Valerie Plame was outed as she worked on tracking WMDs in the mid-east (wasn't she part of "protecting Americans?"). We all know billions went missing in Iraq (all a part of "protecting Americans?"). And we all know Bush didn't give a shit about protecting us before 9/11 (I still can't believe no one has asked him why he sat and did nothing while we were being attacked), so why the adamant desire to avoid an investigation? Is it all about Bush administration torture? Or is there more that these miscreants did, like run a world-wide criminal enterprise using the Iraq invasion as "a front?"

1. The name "Halliburton" comes to mind.
The entire Iraq invasion was just a way to funnel money into companies that propped up the BushCo mafia.

3. Yes, and could some of the detainees have information that would benefit companies like Halliburton?
And they were waterboarded to get that information? After all, no one would notice if they were rounded up along with "terrorism suspects."

We're dealing with a corrupt, criminal administration, after all...
